On April 8, President Prabowo chaired a government work meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, attended by members of the “Red-and-White Cabinet”, senior officials of various ministries and state-owned enterprise leaders, to comprehensively evaluate the government’s performance over the past one and a half years. At the meeting, the president stated clearly that the government had efficiently fulfilled national duties, effectively steered the country’s development and successfully avoided various global risks over the past 18 months, proving its efficiency and reliability with concrete actions.
“Alhamdulillah, we have been able to control the direction of the country’s development. We have avoided various risks and proven that our government is effective, reliable, and capable of properly performing national duties.” He also emphasized, “I have studied relevant data and reports, and facts show that our situation is quite secure. Despite challenges and difficulties, we are fully capable of addressing and overcoming them.”
On energy security, the top concern for investors, President Prabowo delivered a strong vote of confidence at the meeting. The government has formulated special short-term strategic measures to fully safeguard national energy stability for the next 12 months, a critical period that will lay a solid foundation for Indonesia’s energy independence.
“We will take measures to control fuel consumption in the short term. I believe the next 12 months are a critical period. After 12 months, we will become very strong. Right now, we are ready and capable of navigating this year.”
Meanwhile, the government is accelerating the energy transition, leveraging the country’s abundant natural resources to vigorously develop renewable energy and gradually achieve national energy independence. In addition, targeted energy subsidy policies will be implemented to ensure basic energy needs for 80% of the population. He pledged, “We will continue to provide subsidized fuel for the poor and vulnerable groups. We will continue to do so for 80% of the population. However, those who are able, the wealthy, if they wish to use expensive gasoline, will have to pay market prices.” These measures not only maintain social stability but also underpin the country’s sustained economic development.

On April 9, during his attendance at the inauguration of the commercial electric vehicle assembly facility of PT VKTR Sakti Industries in Magelang Regency, Central Java, President Prabowo sent a further positive signal to the world about Indonesia’s rise. He stressed that Indonesia has completely shed its identity as a “sleeping giant” and is rapidly emerging as a major global force, with food and energy independence as the core foundations for the country’s survival and sustainable development.
“We must remain vigilant yet optimistic. We will face challenges in the coming months, but we possess rich and powerful resources. Even as we conserve energy and transition to clean and renewable energy.”
He also conveyed confidence to the people, especially the younger generation: “Indonesia is not in decline; its future is bright. We are strong and growing stronger, with sound economic growth. Young people, our future is full of promise.”
Finally, the president concluded with great confidence: “Next year, we will surprise the world. Indonesia is rising. The giant is awakening. We are no longer a sleeping giant—we are on the rise.”
