On July 30, 2025, a grand event aimed at deepening economic and trade exchanges between China and Indonesia – “Overseas Chinese Assistance for Thousands of Enterprises and Products Going Global – Jakarta Station, Indonesia” and the “Guangdong Trade Global” Promotion Conference – was grandly held at the Sahid Sudiman Center in Jakarta. The event was hosted by the Overseas Chinese Association of Guangzhou and organized by the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia. It has built an efficient and practical cooperation bridge for Chinese enterprises to explore the Indonesian market and participate in the Belt and Road Initiative.
At the event, Ms. Li Miaojuan, a member of the Party Group and vice chairperson of the Overseas Chinese Association of Guangzhou, delivered an enthusiastic speech first. She stated that the Overseas Chinese Association of Guangzhou will continue to play the role of a bridge and link, fully support Guangzhou enterprises in “going global”, and is full of confidence in the broad prospects of China-Indonesia cooperation.
Subsequently, as the host of this event, Mr. Chen Riling, the president of the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia and the chairman of Wanxinda Group, delivered a keynote speech.
He first expressed his sincere gratitude to the delegation from the Overseas Chinese Association of Guangzhou for their visit, and then shared his profound insights based on his many years of experience developing in Indonesia. He pointed out: “For Chinese enterprises to go global, what they need is not only courage, but also a trustworthy platform and a ‘guide’.” The mission of our Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia is to serve our member enterprises well and help them avoid detours.
When discussing how to provide solid support for enterprises going global, Chairman Chen Riling introduced the flagship project that Wanxinda Group has been dedicated to building – the Wanxinda Industrial Park in the Batang National Economic Special Zone, Indonesia. He particularly mentioned that this special economic zone has received high attention from the Indonesian government and is expected to be developed into “Shenzhen of Indonesia”, which will provide unprecedented policy support and development opportunities for the enterprises that settle in.
After the keynote speech, a series of wonderful segments brought the event to a climax. During the promotion session, Li Kailun, the secretary-general of the Economic and Trade Committee of the Guangzhou New Overseas Chinese Association and the ambassador for the 2025 Guangzhou International Sports Carnival, gave a wonderful presentation on Guangzhou’s business environment and the 15th National Games. She stated, “As a ‘city of exhibitions and Conferences’, Haizhu District is undergoing a digital transformation and will embrace more new opportunities for industrial development.”
As a testament to this friendship and cooperation, Secretary-General Li Kailun promptly and solemnly presented the “National Games Souvenir”, which represented expectations and blessings, to Chairman Chen Riling. This handover symbolizes the trust and entrustment of cooperation between the two places. As a representative of the Indonesian overseas Chinese leaders, Chairman Chen Riling has taken on a heavy responsibility to promote common development.
Immediately after, at the highly anticipated unveiling ceremony of “Jakarta, Indonesia – Guangzhou Tea House”, Chairman Chen Riling and Vice Chairperson Li Miaojuan jointly unveiled the plaque for the first “Jakarta, Indonesia – Guangzhou Tea House” in Indonesia. This is not only a symbol of cultural exchange, but also marks the official opening of a “overseas living room” for Cantonese merchants that integrates hometown sentiment, business sentiment and friendship in Jakarta.
The successful holding of this promotion event clearly demonstrates the strong cohesion of “taking overseas Chinese as a bridge”. From concept to action, from connection to the platform, this “Overseas Chinese Assistance for Thousand Enterprises and Ten Thousand Products Going Global” event in Jakarta has successfully transformed the vision of serving enterprises’ overseas expansion into tangible and visible practical results. It not only injects new impetus into economic and trade cooperation between China and Indonesia, but also opens a new chapter for the win-win development of enterprises from the two countries in the future.
