In this golden autumn, as the whole country celebrates the National Day, our renowned strategic consulting expert and founder of Thinktank, Teacher Wang Zhigang, and his delegation arrived in Indonesia for an extraordinary “government-industry-academia” cultural exchange and industrial inspection tour, accompanied by the full journey of Chen Rilin, the chairman of Wanxinda Holdings. The purpose of this visit is to gain an in-depth understanding of the overseas market in Indonesia, thereby deepening the cooperation between China and Indonesia in the fields of economy, trade, and culture, especially focusing on in-depth discussions and exchanges on the future development of the China-Indonesia Twin Parks · Batang Industrial Park.
Day1:First Impressions of Jakarta
On the evening of October 1st, Teacher Wang Zhigang and his delegation arrived in Jakarta. The next morning, after experiencing a local Indonesian breakfast, they first visited the Chinatown in Jakarta – PIK, which, as an emerging high-end commercial and residential area in Indonesia formed by land reclamation, is a region where overseas Chinese and Indonesian Chinese reside. It is known for its modern architecture and convenient transportation and is an important residential and business area in Jakarta. Subsequently, the team visited the Wanxinda Jakarta headquarters, overlooking the entire downtown Jakarta skyline from the 23rd floor, and looked forward to future cooperation between the two sides.
Day2: Visiting Major Enterprises Going Global
On the second day, Chairman Chen Rilin and the delegation visited the SAIC-GM-Wuling and Mengniu factories in Indonesia to gain an on-site understanding of the investment and operational status of Chinese companies in Indonesia. As two major pioneering enterprises going global, they have achieved significant success in the Indonesian market. Teacher Wang Zhigang and Chairman Chen Rilin had in-depth exchanges with the management of both companies, learned about their overseas experience, and highly praised their achievements in localization of production and market development. This visit not only enhanced mutual understanding but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.
Day3: Tour of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway and Visit to the Bandung Conference Site
The following day, Teacher Wang Zhigang and his delegation took the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, which signifies a new milestone in the cooperation between China and Indonesia, and quickly arrived in Bandung from Jakarta (taking only 47 minutes). Upon arrival, the team first visited the historically significant Bandung Conference site, an important symbol of the friendly exchanges between China and Indonesia, and a testament to the development of bilateral relations. In the evening, the provincial government of Bandung held a grand welcome dinner for the delegation, expressing their eager anticipation for cooperation between the two sides.
Day4: Envisioning the Future, Co-creating the Blueprint
On the fourth day, the core phase of the inspection arrived. Chairman Chen Rilin led the delegation to first visit the Bandung Aerospace Industrial City located in West Java Province, an area that will be a key expansion region for our company in the future, carrying new hopes for cooperation and a new blueprint for Chinese enterprises entering Indonesia. Subsequently, Teacher Wang Zhigang and his group focused on inspecting the China-Indonesia Twin Parks · Batang Industrial Park, gaining a detailed understanding of the park’s planning and industrial development, and provided valuable guidance and suggestions. Teacher Wang Zhigang said: “Indonesia is like China in the eighties and nineties. Now by getting on the fast train of Indonesia’s takeoff, it is possible to shape this place into a new Shenzhen, a new Shekou in the future. Many people only believe when they see it, but as long as they believe, they can see it. There must always be dreams, what if they come true!”
The location of the China-Indonesia Twin Parks · Batang Industrial Park is precisely where the Chinese navigator Zheng He landed during his voyages to the Western Seas—Semarang, known historically as Three Jewels City. It is said that when the Ming Dynasty navigator Zheng He voyaged to the South Seas, he docked at Semarang, the capital of Central Java, Indonesia. The city was named Semarang, or Three Jewels City, after Zheng He’s nickname, Sanbao. This makes it one of the few cities in the world named after a Chinese figure. The final stop of the day’s itinerary was the Sam Poo Kong Temple in Semarang, dedicated to Zheng He, which is not only a symbol of the Chinese Indonesian culture but also a testament to the friendship between China and Indonesia.
As Chairman Chen Rilin stated: “We will vigorously promote the spirit of Zheng He in the new era, learning and promoting his fearless and pioneering spirit in the face of difficulties. We will earnestly implement the group’s business philosophy, aiming to build a first-class industrial park service system and create a first-class business environment within the park. We will wholeheartedly and with all our resources serve the development of all enterprises in the park, striving to build the Batang Industrial Park into a benchmark project for win-win international cooperation between the two countries. We will make our due contribution to promoting the integrated development of industries, enhancing the welfare of the peoples of both nations, and fostering the prosperity of the regional economy.” This visit brought the entire tour to a successful and satisfying conclusion.
Conclusion:
The visit of Teacher Wang Zhigang and his delegation has not only deepened the exchange and cooperation between China and Indonesia in various fields but also clarified the direction for the future development of the industrial park. We firmly believe that through the joint efforts of both sides, the China-Indonesia Twin Parks · Batang Industrial Park will continue to escort Chinese enterprises going global, provide one-stop services, and build a benchmark industrial park for the “Belt and Road” initiative, contributing to the prosperity and development of both countries and the region. At the same time, this visit has also injected new vitality into the friendly relations between China and Indonesia, laying a more solid foundation for future cooperation.
