Official Announcement! The Premier of the State Council of China will pay a visit to Indonesia from May 24 to 26.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China announced that, at the invitation of President Prabowo of the Republic of Indonesia, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council will pay an official visit to Indonesia from May 24 to 26.
This visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia, and it holds special historical significance.
China and Indonesia formally established diplomatic relations on April 13, 1950, and have gone through a complex historical development process. Since the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries on August 8, 1990, bilateral relations have developed steadily. The two countries have successively established a strategic partnership (in 2005), a comprehensive strategic partnership (in 2013), and a high-level dialogue and cooperation mechanism (in 2021). In November 2022, the two countries reached a consensus on building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future. In November 2024, they further reached a consensus on building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future that has regional and global influence. In April 2025, the two sides established the China-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Dialogue Mechanism, and bilateral relations continue to deepen.
According to the introduction by Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning, during this visit, Premier Li Qiang will hold talks and meetings with Indonesian leaders, including President Prabowo, to have in-depth exchanges on the issue of deepening high-level, all-round strategic cooperation between China and Indonesia. He will also attend business and industry activities. The Chinese side expects that through this visit, it will further promote traditional friendship with Indonesia, deepen unity and cooperation, continue to consolidate the cooperation pattern of five major pillars, namely, politics, economy, humanities, maritime affairs, and security. The two sides will jointly promote their respective modernization construction, continuously enrich the contemporary connotation of the China-Indonesia community with a shared future, and make greater contributions to the peace, stability, and development and prosperity of the region and the world.

Upgrading of economic and trade cooperation: Further expanding the scale of bilateral trade, optimizing the trade structure, and deepening investment cooperation, especially in the fields of high technology, digital economy, and green development.
