— Signing Ceremony of the Batang-Wanxinda Industrial Park in Indonesia
In order to deepen the high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road Initiative” and to align it with Indonesia’s “Global Maritime Fulcrum” concept, the governments of China and Indonesia have decided to jointly build the “Two Countries, Twin Parks” project. To implement the “Two Countries, Twin Parks” project, on May 10, 2023, Mr. Zhou Zuyi, Secretary of the Fujian Provincial Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, Mr. Lu Kang, Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia, Mr. Ganjaro Pranowo, Governor of Central Java, and Mr. Bindja, Consul General of Indonesia in Guangzhou, met in Semarang, the capital of Central Java, and jointly witnessed the signing ceremony of the Batang-Wanxinda Industrial Park in Indonesia. With this, the largest investment project after the COVID-19 pandemic, the “Two Countries, Twin Parks” project – Batang-Wanxinda Industrial Park, officially started. The first phase of the project covers an area of 200 hectares, with the construction of 1.4 million square meters of standard factory buildings, an investment of 330 million US dollars, and is expected to introduce about 200 enterprises to the park within the next three years. The investment will reach 4 billion US dollars, creating about 200,000 jobs. This will provide infrastructure support for Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises to participate in the construction of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, while also driving rapid economic growth in Central Java, benchmarking with Guangdong, China, to build a world-class manufacturing center.

Wanxinda signs a lease agreement with Batang Industrial City
The signing ceremony began with the Chinese project development and construction unit — Wanxinda Technology Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Wanxinda”) — signing a land lease agreement with the Indonesian landowner — PT Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang (Batang Industrial City). The subject of this signing is the first phase of land area of 200 hectares (3,000 mu), with a usage period of 80 years.

Wanxinda signs a strategic cooperation agreement with the project partners
In addition, Wanxinda has signed strategic cooperation agreements with project planning and promotion agencies, engineering design and construction units, financial service entities, industrial park operation and management units, as well as air transportation service teams.
The Finance Center for South-South Cooperation is a special consultative body of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. As a co-organizer, it will introduce international advanced concepts to assist in planning, attracting investment, and promoting the project in developing countries. China Construction Strait Construction and Development Co., Ltd., as a leading construction enterprise in Fujian Province, will provide comprehensive protection to ensure the quality and quantity of the project, and to ensure its smooth completion and operation. The Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited Jakarta Branch is a major financial institution for Chinese enterprises’ overseas financing and will provide account opening, settlement, and financing services for this project and the park’s enterprises. CFLD (Singapore) Investment Pte., Ltd., known as a world-renowned industrial park operation and management institution, will provide strong support for the operation and investment attraction of the industrial park. PT Luks Prima Sarana (DLUX SKY) plans to gradually open routes from Semarang, Indonesia, to five Chinese cities: Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Beijing, and Shanghai, and provide charter services. This will provide high-quality air transportation services for the subsequent investment attraction and operation of the park, and is also conducive to integrating the existing tourism industry resources in Central Java Province.
