Introduction to the Wanxinda Indonesia Badong Industrial Park Project

The Wanxinda Indonesia Badong Industrial Park is an important part of the “Two Countries, Twin Parks” construction between China and Indonesia, and Badong Industrial City is also one of Indonesia’s national strategic projects, attracting much attention. The first phase of the Wanxinda Indonesia Badong Industrial Park covers an area of 200 hectares with a total construction area of 2 million square meters. It plans to introduce about 200 enterprises to settle in the park within the next three years, driving investments to reach 4 billion US dollars and creating about 200,000 job positions. The project is committed to providing infrastructure guarantees and various convenient comprehensive park services for enterprises that are willing to delve into the Indonesian market and expand the “Belt and Road” initiative, helping to ease the worries of going abroad and start businesses with peace of mind! It will also drive the rapid economic growth of Central Java, benchmarking Guangdong in China to build a world-class manufacturing center.

Meeting Guidance Summary————————————Summary

During the guidance and promotion meeting, both sides exchanged views on promoting the construction of the twin parks between the two countries and related preferential policies.

At the meeting, Yu Xiang, Deputy Director of the Asian Department of the Ministry of Commerce of China, first highly affirmed Indonesia’s trade and economic environment and investment advantages, and mentioned that the RCEP will have a positive impact on Indonesia’s economic development. He encouraged Badong Industrial City to seize the good investment opportunities and quickly promote the construction of the park, which is beneficial to enhancing the confidence of enterprises in investing. He emphasized that the governments of China and Indonesia attach great importance to trade and economic cooperation, and the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia will also make every effort to coordinate and solve the difficulties encountered by Chinese-funded enterprises in their development process, and strongly support Chinese-funded enterprises to achieve high-quality development in Indonesia. He also hopes that Indonesia can establish a more perfect cooperation mechanism from the park, local government to the central level, and understand the demands of Chinese enterprises at a high level, provide support, and preferential policies.

In response to Deputy Director Yu’s suggestions, the Badong Management Committee replied that, firstly, in implementing the cooperation between the two countries, both China and Indonesia have signed many relevant strategic cooperation agreements at the central, local, and park levels. Secondly, as Badong Industrial City has been designated as a national strategic project by the Indonesian side, it has completed the majority of the infrastructure construction of the Badong Park within just three years. This speed is considered very fast in the promotion of past parks and is believed to give investors from both China and Indonesia a great deal of confidence. Lastly, regarding the formulation and implementation of future preferential policies, it should be carried out by the central government level, and the Badong Management Committee will also reflect the demands for preferential policies through internal mechanisms to the Indonesian Investment Department, and express the hope that the Chinese side can provide support at the level of cooperation between the two governments.

At the end of the meeting, the person in charge of foreign investment from the Ministry of Commerce of China briefly discussed some policies and considerations of the Chinese side

regarding immigration investment, and the summary is as follows:

Indonesia is an important destination for Chinese enterprises’ foreign investment and cooperation.

In recent years, both sides have achieved significant results in investment cooperation in the fields of manufacturing technology facilities and energy and mineral resources.

Chinese enterprises’ investments in Indonesia have achieved mutual benefit, win-win outcomes, and common development.

Overseas economic and trade cooperation zones are an innovative approach to China’s foreign investment and an important part of the investment

cooperation between China and Indonesia.

Currently, there are already 11 cooperation zones in Indonesia where Chinese enterprises have invested. As of May 2023, the cumulative total investment in these cooperation zones has

exceeded 27 billion US dollars. The construction, development, and operation of these cooperation zones have made a positive contribution to the socio-economic development of the

local areas in Indonesia.

We hope that the Indonesian side will continue to support the healthy development of the cooperation zones

Provide a better business environment and preferential policies; we also hope that the Badong Industrial Park will offer better services to Chinese enterprises investing in the park,

protect the legal rights and interests of the companies, and contribute to the high-quality development of the cooperation between the two countries!
