The Splendid Opening of the 75th Anniversary Dinner of China-Indonesia Diplomatic Relations

As the dinner commenced, a dazzling light show and a traditional Indonesian dance performance instantly ignited the atmosphere, marking a magnificent start to the celebration. Following this, the national anthems of both countries played, and the solemn yet stirring melodies resonated throughout the venue. All guests stood together to express their respect and best wishes for the friendship between China and Indonesia.

During the speeches, Sudarja, Chairman of the Indonesia-China Economic, Social, and Cultural Cooperation Association, was the first to take the stage. Sudarja is not only an active promoter of the friendly relations between China and Indonesia but also an important bridge for economic and cultural cooperation between the two nations. He fondly recounted the journey and achievements of the 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia, expressing his hopes for further deepening cooperation in the future. Sudarja also highlighted the contributions of Chen Riling, President of the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia and Wanshinda Group, as well as the significance of the “Dual Park” project, ultimately wishing for collaborative efforts between China and Indonesia for the advancement of humanity.

Next, Zhou Haoli, the Indonesian Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, congratulated the Indonesia-China Trade Committee, the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, and the opening ceremony of the dual park exhibition hall. He emphasized the ongoing deepening of cooperation in investment and trade, as well as positive developments in cultural exchanges, expressing hopes for further collaboration to contribute to the friendship and economic development of both countries.

Dr. Feng Huilan, Vice Chairman of the Indonesian National Economic Committee and Special Envoy for International Trade and Multilateral Cooperation, stated, “Such celebrations do not necessarily need to be organized by government departments; civil organizations and entrepreneurs can better reflect the friendship between our two peoples. A rapid way to develop the economy is to establish special economic zones, which is why Indonesia created the Batang Industrial Zone. It is now part of the Belt and Road Initiative’s dual park plan, and I am pleased that Mr. Chen Riling is involved in the investment and operation, wishing him all the best.”

Zhang Jinxiong, Chairman of the Indonesian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, also spoke, saying, “Congratulations on the successful opening ceremony of the Indonesia-China Trade Committee, the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, and the dual park exhibition hall. In the future, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and President Chen will be close partners. Let us work hand in hand to deepen the friendly exchanges between China and Indonesia, promote economic prosperity, and contribute to creating a brilliant future together.”

In the highlight of the speeches, Chen Riling shared his journey with Indonesia: “Wanshinda Group has moved from Guangzhou to Vietnam, then to Myanmar, and finally rooted in Indonesia. Throughout this journey, I have witnessed the charm and potential of the Indonesian market. Over the past year, I have traveled back and forth between the two countries countless times, crossing the sparkling night sky of the South China Sea, fueled by my passion and dedication to the China-Indonesia endeavor, putting in all my heart and effort. We have hosted over 4,000 political and business figures at the Batang Industrial Park and conducted more than 30 promotional presentations in China, with at least 6,000 attendees participating, establishing a new bridge for communication between China and Indonesia. In the future, we will maintain a mindset of harmony and cooperation, igniting the future of Indonesia’s industrialization and modernization through our actions, bringing prosperity to our peoples, and striving together for the construction of a China-Indonesia community with a shared future over the next 30 years.”

After the speeches, a highly anticipated award ceremony took place. Sudarja presented the “Vice Chairman” plaque to the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia and President Chen Riling of Wanshinda Group. Josua H. Napitupulu, Chairman of the Indonesia-China Trade Committee, awarded President Chen the plaque for “Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Indonesia-China Trade Committee,” recognizing his outstanding contributions to promoting friendly trade relations between China and Indonesia.

As the dinner approached its conclusion, all the guests took the stage together for a group photo. In that moment, they not only captured the laughter and joy of the evening but also commemorated the deep friendship and collaborative journey between China and Indonesia over the past 75 years.

After the group photo, the hosts prepared a special ceremony featuring the cutting of traditional Indonesian yellow rice. The guests held their knives together to slice this rice, symbolizing the bright future ahead for the people of China and Indonesia as they continue to work hand in hand to create a better tomorrow.
