
On the afternoon of January 27, the second plenary meeting of the Fifth Session of the 14th Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress was held. Huang Kunming, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Meng Fanli, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Guangdong Province, Lin Keqing, Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and other leading officials attended the meeting. Huang Chuping, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, delivered a work report to the session.

In his report, Chairman Huang Chuping systematically reviewed the main work and achievements of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress over the past year. The report pointed out that guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Standing Committee has closely followed the implementation of the Provincial Party Committee’s “1310” specific plan, exercised legislative, supervisory, decision-making and appointment and removal powers in accordance with the law, and strived to build a provincial model of whole-process people’s democracy, providing a solid legal guarantee for Guangdong’s high-quality development and the successful conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan. The report comprehensively summarized the work in terms of strengthening political guidance, focusing on central tasks, giving play to the role of deputies, deepening democratic practices, and improving performance efficiency, and made work arrangements for facilitating a good start to the 15th Five-Year Plan in the new year.
